Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef National University, inaugurated the second edition of the Faculty of Dentistry’s student conference, "NGDC 2nd Edition 2026." The event was held under the supervision of Dr. Rasha Tawfik, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Bassem Anwar, Head of the Education and Student Affairs Sector; and Dr. Walid Samir, Director of the Dentistry Program. The inauguration was attended by Prof. Ahmed Fathallah, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Beni Suef University; Dr. Ehab Heikal, President of the Egyptian Dental Syndicate; Dr. Moshira Zahba, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Galala University; and Dr. Tarek El-Sharkawy, former Vice President of the Canadian International College (CIC). Also present were various academic deans, program directors, faculty members, and representatives from health and professional organizations, alongside a large number of students from several Egyptian universities.
The University President noted that the conference featured 19 specialized scientific lectures, attended by over 450 students. The event aimed to enhance the students' scientific knowledge, provide them with insights into the latest developments across various dental specialties, and facilitate the exchange of academic and practical experience among students from participating institutions—including Beni Suef University (public), Nahda University, South Valley University, the Canadian International College (CIC), and Sphinx University. He emphasized the significance of student conferences in building the capabilities of dentistry students, broadening their scientific and practical horizons, and fostering an interactive environment that encourages the sharing of experiences and expertise among students from diverse universities. The University President commended the participation of Egyptian universities in the conference, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and communication among educational institutions in supporting students' scientific activities. He extended his gratitude to all participating universities and sponsors for their role in the conference's success and the achievement of its scientific objectives.
Dr. Rasha Tawfik added that the conference will span two days, with the second day dedicated to four specialized training workshops. These workshops are designed to develop students' practical skills in areas such as endodontics, dental implants, surgical suturing, and posterior composite restorations—thereby strengthening the applied aspect of their education and bridging the gap between academic knowledge and hands-on training.
The organization of the second edition of the NGDC conference underscores the commitment of the Faculty of Dentistry at Beni Suef National University to supporting students' scientific activities. By providing a platform that brings together dental students from various Egyptian universities, the event fosters the exchange of knowledge and experience, contributing to the preparation of graduates who are both scientifically and practically qualified to keep pace with the rapid advancements in the field of dentistry.
