Beni Suef National University students on a scientific visit to the Library of Alexandria

Under the patronage of Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of the University, Beni Suef Private University organized a scientific visit for students from the Surveying and Mapping Program and electronic archive program to Alexandrina library, under the supervision of Dr. Abu Al-Hassan Abdel Mawgoud, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Rasha Adel, Dean of the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Sector, in the presence of Dr. Sherif Mamdouh, Director of Arts Programs, Dr. Mohamed Nasr, Dr. Maha Ahmed Ibrahim, and Dr. Manal Sayed from the Faculty of Arts, Beni Suef University
The university president explained that the goal of the visit is to link the academic curricula which students received with the practical side, qualify them for the job market, develop their skills, and gain field experience, with the aim of bridging the gap between theory and practice. It also aims to familiarize students of both programs with the bodies relevant to the curriculum of the Surveying and Geographic Information Systems program, and to build students' intellectual awareness of the importance of information and its diverse resources to library and their impact on the legacy of knowledge and connecting generations throughout the ages, through the journey of writing in ancient Egypt and up until the present day. The students toured many of the library's departments, including the photographs, maps, manuscripts, and private collections museums. They also visited the library's rare archaeological holdings, which demonstrate the depth of Egyptian civilization.
