Under the patronage of Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, the 9th Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine was launched today, entitled ""Developing and Enhancing Livestock: Strategies for Achieving Egypt's Vision 2030" . The conference was attended by Dr. Tarek Ali, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Khaled Abbas, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Magdy El-Qady, Honorary President of the Conference, Dr. Salah Moselhy, Chairman of the Lakes and Fish Farms Development and Protection Authority, and Dr. Magdy Hassan, General Secretary of the Veterinarians Syndicate in Egypt. The conference was attended by Major General Ayman Mounir Zaki, Director of the Veterinary Services Department, Major General Mohsen Abdel Hakim Azouz, Veterinarian at the National Service Projects Authority, and the college's vice deans.
Dr. Mansour explained that the conference aims to provide sustainable solutions to combat animal diseases and develop livestock wealth, as well as support development plans in the veterinary field, attract investments in this vital sector, enhance vaccination programs to protect humans and animals from common diseases, and adopt modern technology applications such as biotechnology and nanotechnology to develop the veterinary sector. In addition to publishing applied research in the field of food security, highlighting the latest developments in veterinary medicine, and joint cooperation and exchange of expertise between specialized institutions and research centers, especially since Egypt attaches special importance to the livestock sector, as it is an important means of addressing food security issues. He Pointed out that the National Strategy for Sustainable Development 2030 focuses on investment in the livestock sector, this stems from an awareness of the role of the livestock sector in Egypt.
Dr. Khaled Abbas, Dean of the College, explained that the conference will address a number of topics, including the economic and international challenges in the field of livestock, poultry, and fisheries development; early prediction of imported and emerging epidemic diseases and mitigating their spread; and climate change and its impact on animal health (mitigation and adaptation strategies).
Food safety and technology, procedures and guidelines followed in the Egyptian industry, modern strategies for care, production and breed improvement used in animal, poultry and fish farms, modern techniques in the field of diagnosis and treatment of animal, poultry and fish diseases, applications of biotechnology, nanotechnology, stem cells and vaccination programs in the field of veterinary medical sciences, and modern trends in the field of animal nutrition and the health and safety of foods of animal origin.
At the conclusion of the opening session, a number of prominent guests in this field were honored for their scientific and practical contributions.
