Faculty of Sport Science, Beni Suef University, organizes the first scientific conference “Prospects of Egyptian Athletics towards Olympic coronation”

Under the patronage of Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, the Faculty of Sport Science organized the first scientific conference of the Department of Theories and Applications of Athletics, under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Ragai, Dean of the Faculty, and Dr. Mohamed Riad, Head of the Athletics Department and Conference Rapporteur. The conference was attended by Dr. Hamdi Abdel Rahim, Head of the Regional Development Center of the International Association of Athletics Federations, Dr. Saif Allah Shaheen, Member of the Council of the Mediterranean Athletics Federation, Brigadier General / Hatem Fouda, President of the Egyptian Athletics Federation, Captain / Ahmed Hamza, Vice President of the Egyptian Athletics Federation, Dr. Walid Farouk, Dean of the Faculty of Special Needs Science at Beni Suef University, and a number of heads of athletics departments and specialized professors from Minya and Helwan Universities.
The university president stressed that the aim of organizing the conference is to develop a scientific map to bring Egyptian athletics to the podium of the 2028 US Olympics, through a number of main axes represented in the role of the Regional Development Center in Cairo in developing Egyptian athletics, the plan of the new Egyptian Athletics Federation towards the future of Egyptian athletics, modern sports training in athletics, the role of genetic genes in making the Olympic champion, and the use of modern technologies in supporting people with disabilities in athletics. Dr. Mahmoud Ragai, Dean of the College, explained that the conference activities ended with a number of recommendations, including interest in using modern technologies and genetic genes in selecting talented athletes and athletics, the cooperation of the Egyptian Athletics Federation with scientists from Egyptian universities in planning training programs for the Olympic champion, preparing advanced training programs dedicated to people with disabilities in athletics, and interest in spreading athletics competitions more widely across the republic, especially the Upper Egypt governorates.
