Under the patronage of Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef National University, the Faculty of Medicine organized a scientific symposium entitled "Analgesics and Biosedatives - Quick Solutions or Long-Term Risks", under the supervision of Dr. Abu Al-Hassan Abdel Mawgoud, Vice President of the University for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Osama, Dean of the Medical Sector, Dr. Enas Yahya, Director of the Medical Program, Dr. Marwa Abdel Tawab, Director of the Student Research Unit, and organized by Dr. Noha Al-Talawi, Assistant Professor of Marketing Communication, and in the presence of a number of faculty members and students from various university programs. The university president explained that the symposium is within the framework of the practical application of the curricula for third-year students in terms of organizing awareness campaigns and designing medical publications, as these courses aim to develop students' skills in the fields of marketing and advertising related to the medical sector, noting that the topic of the symposium is in line with the goals of the "Bidaya" initiative, which seeks to enhance community awareness and achieve sustainable development in a way that enhances the importance of community participation for students in presidential initiatives and employing what students have learned through the academic content, indicating that the symposium sheds light on medical solutions that help relieve pain, and reviews the long-term health risks resulting from their excessive use without medical supervision, and ways to educate society and students about the foundations of safe and effective use of medicines to avoid complications. It is worth noting that the symposium activities included a distinguished presentation by a student research team entitled "Educational intervention on the use of antibiotics, self-medication and antibiotic resistance - knowledge, attitudes and practice among medical college students. The research aims to enhance knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAP) regarding the use of antibiotics, self-medication with antibiotics, and antibiotic resistance.
