Beni Suef University President inaugurates a service center for students with disabilities

Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, today inaugurated the Student Service Center for Students with Disabilities to provide academic services to students with disabilities at the level of the university's faculties and institutes in the 330-acre complex, in cooperation with the Governmental Universities Scholarship Program and "AMIDEAST", and in the presence of Dr. Walid Farouk, Dean of the Faculty of Special Needs Science, Ms. "Consi Dramoni", Director of the Program, Ms. Dina Mohsen, Deputy Director of the Program, Dr. Haitham Nagi, Director of the Center, and Mr. Mohamed Selim, Secretary General of the University.

The University President began the opening with an inspection tour inside the center, which includes laboratories and training halls for students with disabilities, computer labs, a library, a Braille printing hall, and halls for assistive devices and activities. The opening ceremony also included a documentary film about the stages of establishing the center, and an inspection of a number of graduation projects for students of the Faculty of Special Needs Science.

The university president explained that the center aims to spread awareness about the issue of people with disabilities and provide many academic services to them at the level of all types of different disabilities, in addition to organizing a number of training courses and various activities for them, their families and all specialists working in the field of disability, as well as providing vocational rehabilitation services with the aim of preparing university students with disabilities who enjoy equal educational opportunities with their peers in a safe environment and achieving empowerment, availability and rehabilitation for the labor market. 

For her part, Ms. Dina Mohsen indicated that the center also aims to unify the efforts made within the university to create a supportive academic environment for students with disabilities and provide consultations to them, faculty members, employees and everyone who deals with them within the university. It is worth noting that Dr. Mansour Hassan honored Ms. Consi Dermone, Director of the Program, and Ms. Dina Mohsen, Deputy Director of the Program, and presented them with the university shield, for their great efforts in opening the center and their fruitful cooperation with the university.
