Under the patronage of Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, the College of Education organized the first annual conference of the Department of Mental Health for the academic year 2023/2024, under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Hammad Hindi, Dean of the College, Dr. Walaa Rabie, Vice Dean of the College for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Ahmed Fikry, Vice Dean of the College for Environmental Affairs and Community Service, Dr. Ramadan Ali Hassan, Vice Dean of the College for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Muhammad Mustafa. Taha, head of the mental health department and president of the conference, Dr. Nermin Mahmoud Abdo, conference rapporteur, and Dr. Yasmine Salah, conference coordinator
the conference topics included psychological adjustment mechanisms, special education, and technological innovations in diagnosing psychological disorders. The conference was attended by Dr. Imam Mustafa, Professor of Educational Psychology, Faculty of Education, Assiut University, and Dr. Ayman Salem, Professor and Head of the Special Education Department, Cairo University
The university president explained that the conference came up with many important recommendations, most notably conducting further research on the effectiveness of using artificial intelligence applications in diagnosing psychological disorders Training researchers in the field of mental health to use modern technological applications in providing therapeutic programs for people with disabilities, taking into account the mastery of scientific concepts in scientific theses and the overlap between many concepts in positive psychology, and conducting research and scientific theses between the Department of Mental Health at the College of Education and the other scientific departments. Dr. Muhammad Hindi added that the recommendations also included the need to pay attention to the psychological problems that students suffer from at all educational levels, and to conduct therapeutic and counseling research for these problems, and to pay attention to studying inclusive educational environments for children with multiple disabilities, and to pay attention to vocational rehabilitation research for people with minor disabilities, and the need to pay attention to clinical studies and mental health case studies
