The College of Navigation Sciences and Space Technology receives students from “AL-Shorouk” and “Japanese” schools

Under the patronage of Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, the Faculty of Navigation Sciences and Space Technology received a delegation of students from Al- Shorouk Experimental Language School and the Japanese School, Beni Suef Educational Administration, on a visit to learn about the first college of its kind in Egypt and the Middle East in the field of navigation sciences. This is under the supervision of Dr. Sameh Al-Marai, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Osama Shalabia, Dean of the College, Dr. Hebat Allah Muhammad Abdel Halim, Vice President of the College for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Manal Jamal El-Din, Vice President of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
The university president explained that the aim of the visit is to introduce school students to the importance of navigation sciences and space technology and to motivate them to introduce this type of science, which is considered one of the most important sciences and technology of the future, with its applications for all aspects of life, pointing out that the aim of establishing the college is to prepare and graduate human cadres at the highest level to work in the field of space navigation, and to establish an integrated scientific base in the fields of navigation sciences and space technology through advanced and distinguished study plans and programs that conform to international standard academic standards.
The Dean of the College emphasized that through the university’s role in serving the community, these visits are considered a link between the college and the external community, as the college is an integral part of society, and the college also fulfills the role assigned to it in providing service and information in all available ways to contribute to the advancement and progress of society, this will have a positive impact on the souls of school students in planning for their future.
Dr. Hebat Allah Muhammad referred, during a lecture to school students, to the various specializations and departments of the college, the capabilities of graduates, job opportunities for them, and the college’s technical and laboratory capabilities. She explained that the visit program included a review of some of the graduation projects for the first batch of last year and their applications in developing the space industry ,air and maritime navigation applications and remote sensing applications.
Dr. Ahmed Badawy Yassen, supervisor of the college’s monitoring team, also gave an introductory lecture on how to use the college’s electro-optical telescope as a monitoring station for astronomical phenomena, satellites, and space debris, and how to survey the early Arab months in cooperation with Egypt's Dar Al-Ifta, as the college is one of the Hijri crescent moon reconnaissance committees.
