Under the patronage of Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of the University, and under the supervision of Dr. Sameh Al-Maraghi, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Walid Farouk, Dean of the College, and Dr. Mona Kamal, Vice Dean of the College for Community Service Affairs, the Faculty of Special Needs Science at Beni Suef University organized a workshop on... Braille method under the slogan “Reading Fingers”, in which Dr. Camellia, Deputy Lecturer in the Department of Visual Impairment, lectured, with the participation of a large number of faculty members, supporting staff, and students from various Egyptian and Arab universities, and which was implemented “online” through “Zoom” program. .
The workshop, which was organized by the Department of Visual Disability in conjunction with the celebration of World Braille Day, dealt with who is Louis Braille, is Braille considered a language or a writing system, what is Braille, pre-Braille skills, Braille writing tools, uses of Braille,and assistive technology and Braille, within the framework of the university’s keenness to hold these various awareness workshops in order to increase awareness among students and society as a whole of the importance of Braille in the lives of people with visual disabilities.
