Under the patronage of Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, an awareness seminar about tourism and individuals with disabilities was organized. This seminar was supervised by Dr. Sameh El Maraghy, the Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, in collaboration between the Faculties of Special Needs Sciences and Tourism and Hotels. Dr. Walid Farouk Hassan and Dr. Ghada Ali Hamoud, Deans of the respective faculties, along with Dr. Mona Kamal, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Special Needs Sciences for Community Service Affairs, spearheaded the event. Dr. Ahmed Amin, Assistant Professor of Hearing Impairment at the faculty, delivered a lecture during the seminar, which was attended by faculty members from both colleges, with noticeable engagement and interaction from the students.

This seminar was part of the initiative by the Faculty of Special Needs Sciences called "Speak Sign Language," which stands as the first initiative among Egyptian universities aimed at raising awareness about sign language. The seminar covered the basics of sign language, including finger spelling, learning letters and numbers, and introducing students to specific sign language vocabulary related to the tourism and hotel industry, commonly used in the field.

Additionally, the Faculty of Special Needs Sciences created an informative sign language video for individuals with hearing impairments. The aim was to familiarize them with the voting process within electoral committees and how to locate and identify the electoral committees. This initiative is part of the college's efforts to encourage the active participation of individuals with disabilities in the upcoming presidential elections scheduled for December.
