Special Needs Sciences at Beni Suef University organizes an event on the occasion of World Stuttering Day

Under the patronage of Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, the College of Sciences for People with Special Needs organized the World Stuttering Day event, under the supervision of Dr. Sameh Al-Maraghi, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Walid Farouk, Dean of the College, and Dr. Mona Kamal, Vice dean of the College for Community Service Affairs in the presence of faculty members and students.
The symposium, which was organized by the Community Service Sector in cooperation with the Department of Language and Speech Disorders at the College of Special Needs Sciences, aims to increase students’ awareness of some of the wrong educational practices that parents follow with their children, which lead to many disorders with the child, and to educate them about the correct educational practices, in solidarity with those with the Stuttering disorder.
The activities included the college’s sign language team performing a poem entitled “My Story with Stuttering,” followed by an acting sketch about the causes of stuttering, which explains and highlights the reasons that lead to it. The attendees expressed how important it is because it raises awareness of the causes of stuttering to avoid the factors that lead to stuttering. A video was shown of a stuttering case telling her story in the various stages of her life with stuttering, which affected all attendees. A video was also shown of a graduation project consisting of an electronic story explaining the causes of stuttering and the correct ways to deal with it, and a simulation of a case from students to illustrate how to diagnose and treat stuttering, which attracted attention of the audience.
