Beni Suef University Council agrees to hold awareness meetings on literacy for social work students

Beni Suef University Council, headed by Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of University, approved in its 226th session the proposals of the College of Developmental Social Work regarding holding awareness meetings on literacy with college students and identifying creative and innovative students in all fields, in the presence of the vice presidents of the university, deans of colleges, and members of the council.
Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan stressed the importance of awareness-raising meetings on eradicating illiteracy after the university ranked first among Egyptian universities in combating and eliminating illiteracy for two consecutive years, and the university’s keenness to support the state’s national strategy to eradicate illiteracy, which is in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030, by working to increase the rate of community awareness of the problem of illiteracy and dropout from education, and reducing the percentage of illiterate people.

The Council also agreed to identify creative and innovative students in all fields and activities and hold permanent exhibitions for them. The University President explained that the Center for Developing Talented, Creative and Innovative Students has been established at the university and outside it, to develop their capabilities and support them to implement their creative ideas and contribute to marketing them locally, regionally and internationally, as the Center seeks to enable talented, creative and innovative people to compete regionally and globally, and to build young creative leaders capable of leadership in an effort to build a knowledge society.
