A student delegation from Beni Suef University visited the Al-Azhar Observatory within the cooperation protocol with the Ministry of Youth and Sports

Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, announced the visit of a student delegation from the university to the Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism. This is within the cooperation protocol which concluded with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to implement the program "Towards a Youth Vision to Confront Extremism and Terrorism"; With the aim of educating university students and immunizing them against extremist ideas, and correcting misconceptions which spread by terrorist organizations, through their publications on the Internet and social networking sites
The visit included a lecture on "the dangers of terrorist organizations exploiting technology to attract and recruit youth ." Which was delivered by General Ihab Talaat, lecturer at the Nasser Academy for Military Sciences, while Dr. Hamada Shaaban, supervisor of the Turkish-language monitoring unit at the Observatory, explained during the second lecture entitled “Youth and Extremist Groups,” the strategy that terrorist organizations rely on to spread their extremist ideas and attract more items to their line As well as ways to reveal the falsity of the ideas of these organizations and how to immunize minds from this deliberate misinformation
It is noteworthy that the visit was preceded by the organization of a number of events within joint initiatives between the Al-Azhar Observatory and some local and international bodies, such as cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs represented by the International Counter-Terrorism Unit, and all state ministries
