Under the auspices of Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, the Faculty of Applied Arts organized a symposium on origami sculpture and its Its relationship to applied arts, as part of the activities of the Five Art initiative  which launched by the college to raise awareness of all fields and aspects that related to the arts, under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Madi, Dean of the College, and Dr. Mohamed Hamed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.
Dr. Mansour explained that this symposium comes as an initiative to integrate the practical side with the academic and link the requirements of the labor market and professional life with the scientific and academic side of the college, especially since there are many studies working on the use of techniques based on the art of origami in many fields and modern industries Stressing that artistic creativity does not require a lot of equipment and supplies, all that is needed is the artistic and creative vision in addition to the use of certain techniques that transform ordinary paper into images and various artistic shapes, starting from flat shapes, through stereoscopic shapes, and ending with complex shapes
