President of Beni Suef University: 3 graduation projects at the Faculty of Earth Science win funding of 225 thousand pounds from Scientific Research Academy

Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, announced that three graduation projects in the field of climate change and industrial wastewater treatment win funding of 225 thousand pounds from the Academy of Scientific Research for the current academic year, under the supervision of Dr. Ibrahim Abdel-Gayed, Dean of the Faculty, and Dr. Fathi Abu Al-Saud, Head of the Department of Water and Environment Geology, the two demonstrators, Aya Abdullah and Menna Allah Khalif. The projects included 15 male and female bachelor students from the Department of Water and Environment Geology .

Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan stressed that the university pays great attention to scientific research and seeks to direct its programs and research in line with its responsibility towards society and solve its problems, and strives diligently to promote scientific research and awareness to combat climate change, and to raise the level of awareness among students and researchers about climate change, in line with the efforts the Egyptian state in dealing with this problem.

The University President praised the great role played by the Academy of Scientific Research in financing the projects of final year students in practical faculties in Egyptian universities, to inject new ideas into the labor market and emerging companies in a number of different fields.
Dr. Ibrahim Abdel-Gayed indicated that the projects include a project to reduce the impact of climate change through groundwater technology in an innovative way, a project for the impact of climate change on the educational process in Egyptian universities, “Faculty of Earth Science, Beni Suef University, a case study,” and a quaternary treatment project for industrial water rich in industrial detergents using photocatalysis.
