The Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Research Institute, with the participation of faculty members, graduate students at the institute, and final-stage students at the Faculties of Agriculture and Science, organized two applied workshops, under the patronage of Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of the University, and under the supervision of Dr. Sameh Al-Maraghi, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Mumtaz Hijab, Dean of the Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Research Institute, and Dr. Sabri Salah El-Din, Assistant Professor of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants and the Institute’s Undersecretary for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ayat, Lecturer of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants at the College of Agriculture.
The university president explained that the first workshop discussed how to reduce the bad effects of climate change through greenhouses and manage them using a smart and advanced farming method. The great effort spent in equipping, preparing and preparing the botanical garden and greenhouse at the institute, where some traditional types of medicinal and aromatic plants were cultivated such as (basil - mint - marjoram - thyme - rosemary - lavender - arum - jasmine - jasmine), and some ornamental plants were also cultivated Such as (the seven palate - the mantle - the hibiscus - the acalafa - the duranta - the tecumaria). Also, for the first time in the university, some new plants are introduced to the Egyptian crops and have therapeutic uses, such as (the chaves - the carissa - the polepine).
