The Media Monitoring Unit in Beni Suef Media announces the results of monitoring climate issues for the year 2022

Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, praised the great efforts made by the media and the press in discussing all national issues objectively, and defining public opinion with its dimensions and different angles, which reflects a deep understanding and awareness of the nature of the positive role, and employing all of this in serving society and supporting the state’s march. In all fields and projects that the country is witnessing during the era of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic.
This came during his discussion of a report prepared by Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Sayyid, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, regarding the report of the media monitoring unit in the college, under the supervision of Dr. Nisreen Hossam El-Din, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Shahenda Atef, Director of the Unit, on announcing the results of monitoring climate issues in the Egyptian media for the year 2022. The report monitored the indicators of 7555 media materials that varied between read and visual materials and advertisements for climate issues, through a comprehensive inventory of all media materials in the portals of Egyptian newspapers, news websites, and satellite channels.
The report of the Monitoring Unit indicated that the most prominent climate issues in the Egyptian media were shown by the monitoring indicators of the Cop27 Climate Summit in the first place, followed by weather and global warming in the second place, energy in the third place, climate awareness, environmental crises, recycling, drought and desertification, pollution, and the green economy. And thermal emission, and logging, and household industries, and natural resources.
Dr. Abdel Aziz Al-Sayyed, Dean of the Faculty, confirmed that the report came out with a set of indicators. At the level of newspaper portals and news sites, 6557 press articles were monitored, where Al-Watan ranked first with a rate of 17%, followed by the Masrawy website with a rate of 14.6%, and the seventh day website in order. Third, with a percentage of 9.9%, while both Al-Shorouk and Al-Masry Al-Youm websites ranked fourth with a rate of 9.7%, and Cairo 24 website ranked fifth with a rate of 9.3%, and Al-Wafd portal ranked with 7% in sixth place, and Akhbar Al-Youm portal came in seventh place with a rate of 6.3%, and Al-Ahram portal ranked seventh. Ranked eighth with 6.2%, Veto ranked ninth with 5.7%, and Al-Dustour site ranked tenth with 4.6%.
