President of Beni Suef University announces the winning of a research project with funding of 1.9 million pounds aimed at reducing the impact of climate change on the environment

Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, announced today that a research project in the Faculty of Earth Sciences has won funding from the Science, Technology and Innovation Authority STDF which affiliated to the Ministry of Higher Education with a value of 1.9 million pounds, in the presence of Dr. Ibrahim Abdel-Gayed, Dean of the College and Team Advisor, Dr. Essam Abdel-Rahman, “Assistant Researcher” and Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Fathi Mohamed, “Main Researcher”, and Teaching Assistant Aya Mohamed “Member” and Teaching Assistant Mena Allah Khalif as a member
Dr. Mansour Hassan explained that the project is in line with the Egyptian state's plan in the field of sustainable development and adaptation to climate change, and coincides with Egypt's hosting of the Summit Pointing out that the title of the project is "Towards an Integrated System for Treating Agricultural Wastewater" by recycling old reverse osmosis membranes and using them in advanced treatment of agricultural wastewater. With the laws regulating the reuse of water in its various degrees in order to achieve the sustainability of non-traditional water sources, as well as the safe disposal of waste from desalination stations
Dr. Ibrahim Abdel-Gayed indicated that the project will be piloted at some stations in cooperation with the Ministry of Military Production, the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater, and the Scientific Research City through the implementation of an experimental unit and another semi-industrial unit, indicating that the financing of the winning project in the college came within 24 research projects carried out by the authority in   the framework of its implementation plan to adapt to climate change and preserve nature
