Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, opened today the first station to generate and produce oxygen to achieve self sufficiency, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Hani Ghoneim, Governor of Beni Suef, members of the House of Representatives and Senate, Vice Presidents of the University, and a number of university leaders and media professionals
Dr. Mansour Hassan explained that the station works to produce and provide medical oxygen to meet the needs of all hospitals and units affiliated with the university, while ensuring its continuity throughout the day, as it depends on the surrounding air and not an external source, pointing out that the station provides the highest levels of safety by avoiding storage risks and the human factor errors, in addition, it directly helps to avoid the severe risk of relying on a source of supply outside the direct control of the hospital
For his part, Dr. Atef Morsi, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, indicated that the station produces more than 120 cubic meters per hour, and helps in rationalization as the cost of supplying oxygen gas is constantly increasing, especially in times of crisis, pointing out that the station has a separate building on an area 80 m and consists of three floors
Dr. Mohamed Shaaban Abul-Ela, Executive Director of Hospitals, pointed out that the station is the first of its kind at the level of university hospitals in all universities of the Republic, and aims to achieve self-sufficiency, as the actual production covers the consumed quantity, and saves more than 5 million pounds in expenditures per year which helps in rationalizing spending
