For second time.. Beni Suef University ranks first among Egyptian universities in eradicating illiteracy of more than 26 thousand citizens

Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, announced today, that the university ranked first at the level of Egyptian universities in eradicating illiteracy of 26,110 citizens in April 2022 session, according to the report approved by the General Authority for Adult Education.
Prof. Dr. Mansour congratulated students, faculty members and all participants in this project for this achievement, expressing his happiness for university’s obtaining the first place for the second time at the level of Egyptian universities, stressing the university’s keenness to support the state’s national strategy to eradicate illiteracy, which is in line with Egypt’s vision 2030, in cooperation with the General Authority for Adult Education, within the framework of the protocol signed between the Adult Education Authority and Beni Suef University, to eradicate illiteracy, which implements the protocol through its human cadres of faculty members and students under the supervision of specialized professors participating in the project, with attention to people with special needs by erasing the illiteracy of people with hearing and visual disabilities.
Prof. Dr. Sameh Al-Maraghi, Vice President of University for Community Service and Environmental Development, explained that the university students were able to eradicate the illiteracy of 26,110 citizens inside the governorate, in April 2022 session, through literacy classes in all the governorate’s centers. The faculties of Arts got the first place, and faculties of Education got the second place, and faculties of Commerce got the third place, by encouraging students with rewards, conducting competitions between colleges and exempting outstanding students from tuition fees, stressing the importance of exploiting all university’s capabilities to benefit from their abilities in eradicating illiteracy and adult education and increasing the awareness of the community about the problem of illiteracy and dropout from education and reducing the percentage of illiterates and dropouts.
