damages of early marriage, a symposium between the Faculty of Early Childhood Education at Beni Suef University and the Social Solidarity Unit

The Faculty of Early Childhood Education at Beni Suef University, in cooperation with the University’s Social Solidarity Unit, organized a symposium entitled “Early Marriage: Its Causes and Damage to the Girl and Society.”
In the presence of Dr. Muhammad Hussein, Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Madiha Mustafa, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Asmaa Sayed Gomaa, coordinator of seminars and lectures at the faculty, Mr.Muhammad Mohsen, Ms. Rabab Yassin at the University’s Social Solidarity Unit, and Sheikh Adel Haider, representative of the Ministry of Awqaf and Students.
Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of the University, said that the symposium dealt with the harms of early marriage from an educational, legislative and religious perspective, and sent several positive messages and advice to students in this regard.
This symposium comes within the framework of cooperation between Beni Suef University and the unit, to hold symposiums in different faculties to educate students about the harms of some customs and behaviors prevalent in society.
The president of the university stressed that the symposium also dealt with marriage and its concept and the role of society in rehabilitating the individual before marriage, and solving this type of societal problems so as not to impede the development movement in the country. He also stressed the awareness of female students about the future dangers of early marriage to them, and the importance of limiting this phenomenon to make an educated and conscious generation of healthy and intellectually fit youngsters.
Dr. Asmaa Sayed Gomaa, the coordinator of seminars and lectures at the college, confirmed that the symposium reviewed the cooperation between Beni Suef University and the Ministry of Social Solidarity in implementing initiatives within the university. During the symposium, some samples of the subjective experiences of the students who embraced this experience were reviewed, and how they were deprived of their childhood, exposing them to forms of domestic violence, and the risks of pregnancy and childbirth at a young age.
