President of Beni Suef University attends the activities of the educational symposium on combating violence against women within the "16 Days Campaign"

Today, Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, witnessed the educational symposium organized by the Health and Population Committee of the National Council for Women in cooperation with the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at the Faculty of Human Medicine, the Faculty of Nursing, the Egyptian Family Planning Association and the Youth Peer Network, as part of the activities of the "16-day campaign" launched by Ministry of Social Solidarity to combat violence against women.
 Present at the meeting were Dr. Sherine Salah Ghaleb, member of the Health and Population Committee of the National Council for Women and the Cairo Doctors Syndicate, Dr. Hani Hamed El-Desouky, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing and Professor of Psychiatry, Dr. Abul-Hassan, Dean of the Faculty of Social Work, Counselor Laila Abu Akl, member of the National Council for Women, and Dr. Mustafa Haroun Beni Suef Physicians Syndicate.
For his part, Dr. Mansour Hassan affirmed the university’s keenness to participate in all community awareness initiatives and campaigns, which contributes to supporting the efforts of the Egyptian state through the solidarity of all parties, stressing the importance of building societal awareness in general and university in particular to address all forms of violence against women by working to change The way of thinking about women, and identifying the tools and mechanisms that can be used to deter violence against them, which is reflected positively by strengthening the values ??of prevention and protection, supporting them, realizing their rights and protecting them from all forms of violence and discrimination against them, with the aim of creating a cultural and social climate supportive of anti-violence issues.
Dr. Sherine Salah Ghaleb addressed the issue of women’s rights, religious justice for them, their rights to property, education, physical safety, non-exposure to violence, and reproductive rights, while Dr. Hani Hamid exposed the psychological effects of female circumcision as one of the negative phenomena in Arab societies, stressing the need to spread awareness about That issue, while Dr. Mustafa Haroun touched on the rights of the working mother at work and the family and her role in society. Counselor Laila Abu Akl addressed the issue of underage marriage and the assault on human dignity as a full-fledged crime. Dr. Abul-Hasan spoke about the role of the social worker within civil society institutions in building Awareness of this issue, pointing out that protecting women from violence requires the concerted efforts of all the various institutions of society.
