Beni Suef University Council honors Dr. Osama Shalabia for winning membership in the International Committee of the Astrophysics Laboratory

Today, in its 198th session, Beni Suef University Council, headed by Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of University, honored Dr. Osama Mahmoud Abdel Rahman Shalabia, Dean of the Faculty of Navigation Science and Space Technology, for winning by the free election internationally a membership in the International Committee for Astrophysics Laboratory of the International Federation for Astronomy and Space for the session 2021 -2025, in the presence of the university's vice presidents, Deans of faculties and members of the council.

The University President congratulated Dr. Shalabiya, praising his tangible efforts during the recent period, wishing him continued success, stressing that the university possesses many distinguished scientific cadres who, through their contributions, can place the university in a high rank in international and local classifications, pointing out that the university spares no effort in providing all forms of support to researchers and faculty members.

It is worth mentioning that Dr. Osama Shalabia rose to academic positions until he reached the rank of Professor of Astronomy, Space and Meteorology in 2007 at Cairo University, then Head of the Department of Astronomy and Space Science at the Faculty of Science, Cairo University in 2018.
He was then appointed as a member of the National Committee for Astronomy and Space Science at the Academy of Scientific and Technological Research, then as a member of the Space Science and Remote Sensing Research Council at the Academy of Scientific and Technological Research, then as a member of the Promotions Committee at the National Institute of Astronomical and Geophysical Science.
