President of Beni Suef University: The Marathon for the Student Union elections will start next Thursday

Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, held a meeting today to discuss announcing all the details to open the door for candidacy, withdrawing and submitting applications for the Student Union elections next Thursday, 10 December and in the presence of Dr. Gamal Abdel-Rahman, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Vice-deans for Education and Student Affairs, General Director of Education and Student Affairs, General Director of Youth Welfare, and Directors of Youth Welfare Departments in Faculties
Dr. Mansour congratulated Dr. Gamal Abdel-Rahman, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, on assuming his new position, stressing that today's meeting came to discuss all preparations and announce the details for the start of the Student Union Election Marathon, stressing the need for students to take all precautionary measures while participating in the elections in order to ensure their safety
The President of Beni Suef University added that the initial lists of candidates will be announced on Sunday, 13, December and appeals will be received on Monday, 14 December and examined on Tuesday,
15 December , and the final lists will be announced on Wednesday, 16 December and the election campaigning will start on Thursday,
17 December for a period of 3 days. The elections for the first round of colleges, counting and announcing the results will take place on Sunday,20 December , and the run-off will be held on Monday,
21 December, while the elections for committee secretaries and their assistants will be held at the college level on Tuesday,22 December and the elections for the Union presidents and vice presidents will be held at the college level on Wednesday 23 December
The marathon ends with the elections for committee secretaries and their assistants, the president and vice president of the federation at the university level, on Thursday, 24th December
Dr. Mansour emphasized that student elections are a microcosm and a practical application of practicing democracy, stressing the university’s keenness to provide all appropriate conditions for student participation in the electoral process, and that the university stands at the same distance from all its students.
The university president pointed out the conditions that must be met by students who apply for candidacy, including that “the candidate must be Egyptian, have good conduct and reputation, new in his study grade, and the student has documented student activity in the field of the committee to which he is nominated except for first-year students. He should not have any disciplined problem, and he should not have been punished for any crime, and he should not be a member of any terrorist organization or group established in contravention of the law(
