The activities of the first international scientific conference of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Beni Suef University, werw started today, under the title "Arab Media in the Light of Digital Competition and Generational Wars", "Realistic visions and future challenges."
The conference is sponsored by Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, in the presence of a large number of academic, journalistic and media work figures in Egypt at Ibdaa Center Hall of the Cultural Development Fund at the Egyptian Opera House.

Prof.Dr. Mansour Hassan said that coinciding with the unprecedented achievements made by President / El-Sisi in building and developing Egypt, the state faced unconventional wars, namely the fourth and fifth generation wars, that aim to spread confusion, chaos and rumors, and attempting to question the state’s achievements, and broadcast incorrect news.

Hence our responsibility, as the university is keen to set an agenda for practical solutions to all the challenges facing the country, in light of the hostile channels that seek to spread discord and rumors, especially under the technological development that has caused a boom in the media's treatment of issues and topics.

Prof. Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Sayed, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication and President of the Conference stated that there is wide participation in the first conference in the presence of pioneers and professors of media, press and media figures and researchers, as it includes (52) scientific papers discussing activating mechanisms to confront rumors and confront the fourth and fifth generation wars in (5) scientific sessions. The aim is to present mechanisms and proposals that can be implemented, and a report will be submitted with the recommendations of the conference to help in drawing confrontation strategies.

Dr. Amani Albert, conference Reporter and vice-president of the College of Mass Communication for Postgraduate Studies and Research, said that despite the positive role of social media, it contributed to spreading rumors. This puts us in front of an attempt to monitor realistic visions and future challenges facing the media in light of the fourth and fifth generation wars.

It is worth noting that a number of media icons were honored on the sidelines of the conference in appreciation of their role as guardians of media portals.
