President of Beni Suef University announces the formation of a unit to combat violence against women

Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, today issued Decision No. (1457) to form the Unit for Combating Violence against Women, as part of the university’s plan to implement activities to combat violence against women.

The university president explained that the aim of establishing the unit is to ensure the provision of a safe and supportive educational environment for women and university girls free of violence and discrimination, in light of the National Strategy for the Empowerment of Egyptian Women 2030, based on achieving the sustainable development goals, especially the goal related to empowering women and girls.

In addition to implementing many activities related to combating violence against women, and activating the role of the Executive Committee to follow up the efforts of ministries and government bodies related to the national strategy through the formation of working groups to follow up implementation at the university level, in addition to organizing training courses for raising the capacities of women dealing with violence issues, and training Doctors deal with victims of violence.

It is noteworthy that the formation of the unit included Dr. Mansour Hassan as Chairman, Vice President for Community Service Affairs as a Deputy, Dr. Dalia Abdel Wahab, Assistant Professor at the Department of Forensic Medicine at the College of Medicine as a member, Dr. Mona Sayed Hassan,  Lecturer at the Psychiatry Department at the College of Medicine as a member, and Dr. Hagar Abdel Rahman, Director of the unit is a member, and Dr. Gumana Ramadan Abdullah, Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Law as a member, in addition to a student representative nominated by the Student Auxiliary Committee.
