Beni Suef University Council discusses preparations for the new academic year and no increase in tuition fees and university hostels.

Beni Suef University Council discussed today, headed by Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of the University, and in the presence of Vice Presidents of University, the university's preparations including all its faculties and institutes for the reception of the new academic year 2020/2021 and the completion of medical examination of new students.
Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, stated that the tuition fees at the university’s colleges, institutes and university cities would not increase for the new academic year 2021/2020, and stressed that the university bears tuition fees and support for the students of lower-income families through the Social Solidarity Fund, in addition to full health care support for students with various medical conditions, stressing the interest in supporting students of lower-income families and students with special abilities, or outstanding students, and providing all aspects of support, care and encouragement to them to keep their excellence and distinction.
The university president stressed the need to complete the maintenance of auditoriums, laboratories and study halls, and ensure their readiness to receive students, announce study schedules, and the presence and regularity of university leaders, stressing the development of a plan to receive and celebrate new students.
Prof. Dr. Mansour called the deans of colleges to develop a plan to attend leaders of all colleges and deliver them within days before the start of the new academic year, and to form committees of faculty deans, as the first committee includes all the medical sector to develop a plan of precautionary measures against Corona virus and the procedures that will be implemented and educate students before the start of the new academic year.
The second committee is under the supervision of Education and Students Affairs Sector to develop a plan to prepare for the new academic year and receive new students in cooperation with the Youth Care Department. The Third Committee is for the application of Hybrid Education and Distance Education in cooperation with the Director of Projects and Blended Learning, and the Fourth Committee is to assess the university’s position in the field of postgraduate studies and research.
Prof. Dr. Mansour assured to the committee members that a weekly meeting would be held in each committee to discuss the latest developments and preparations.
The council also discussed the hybrid education system and how to implement it, in addition to improving the quality of education to comply with global systems, especially after the emergence of Corona virus, which necessitated the development of advanced education systems away from traditional systems, the use of e-learning techniques and elements, and the use of various distance education methods through the e-learning platform.
The university president explained that Hybrid Education depends on the combination of face-to-face and distance learning, and enables the student to obtain the knowledge aspect and some skills through distance learning, which contributes to reducing student density, as well as achieving optimal benefit from the experience of faculty members, and making use of the most of the universities' infrastructure.
Within the framework of the university's digital transformation plan, the council discussed the necessary preparations to fully automate the educational system and expand the system of digital platforms through which students communicate with professors, prepare content, manage the educational process, restore lectures and scientific material, and publish education, in addition to discussing the possibility of generalizing Automated tests.
The Beni Suef University Council agreed to seek the assistance of three members from outside the university to join the council, namely, Major General Doctor / Mohamed Reda Awad, former Director of the Medical Rehabilitation Center of Armed Forces and President of the Reda Awad Charitable Society, Dr. Alaa Abdel Halim, former Dean of the College of Medicine, and Dr. Hanan Suleiman, former Dean of the College of Science and a Senate member
