The Supreme Council for Community Service and Environmental Development held its meeting at Beni Suef University on the sidelines of the Fourth International Conference on the Risks of Environmental Pollution in Developing Countries chaired by Dr. Mohamed Latif, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Deputy Minister of Higher Education for Universities' Affairs, and Vice-Presidents of Universities for Community Service Affairs and environment development.
Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of University, welcomed the attendees, stressing his happiness to hold the meeting at the university due to the development witnessed in all aspects of the educational process.
The Council discussed a number of issues related to community service, on top of which is the distribution of curative medical convoys for all Egyptian public universities to the most needy areas in all sectors of society, as well as veterinary and agricultural medical convoys as an inherent role for universities in the performance of their community role to protect the Egyptian citizen.
The council also discussed the minutes of the meeting of the Supreme Committee to follow up implementation of national project for literacy at Egyptian universities, the contribution of universities in eliminating illiteracy and a number of related topics.
