Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Research Institute launches "Get Green" initiative

 Beni Suef University Council, headed by Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, approved at its 180th meeting a proposal by Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Research Institute regarding the launch of "Get Green" initiative to plant a number of fruit trees in a 300-acre compound, east of the Nile, with the participation of the Center of Developing means of preserving environment.
Prof. Dr. Mansour emphasized that the initiative aims in general to grow fruitful trees everywhere suitable for cultivation, so that we achieve community participation without the lowest cost to the state.
The University President explained that the afforestation process is considered one of the main elements for environment as an appropriate means to increase the rate of environmental recovery, fertilization of soils and combating desertification, in addition to reducing the proportion of desert and providing a clean healthy environment, in addition to enhancing the process of biological and environmental diversity that contributes to climate moderation and improving air quality .
It is worth noting that this initiative comes within the framework of caring for the environment, providing a healthy environment, maximizing the value of volunteer work and student participation in advancing the university in all fields.
