President of Beni Suef University: Creating digital repository to contain researchers' intellectual production

Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, agreed, during his presidency of the meeting of the Supreme Committee to supervise scientific journals, to creat a digital repository for the university to provide intellectual production for faculty members, assisting body and researchers in a digital form without obstacles for beneficiaries from inside and outside the university to be a substitute for faculty members sites of university’s portal, which are characterized by rigidity and inflexibility.
This was in the presence of University Vice-Presidents, the financial and legal advisor, Dr. Maha Ahmed, Director of the Scientific Journals Management Unit, Dr. Mumtaz Higab, General Coordinator of divisions and programs and the university coordinator for digital transformation.
Prof. Dr. Mansour added that it was agreed during the meeting to hold a training workshop entitled "System of Managing Scientific Journals Available on Knowledge Bank" to train members of editorial boards on the electronic management of the magazine's website and the process of arbitration and publishing.
It was also agreed to create a monthly electronic magazine on university's website containing English summaries of all researches published in the Arabic language in university's various magazines according to the plan of the Ministry of Higher Education to raise the rate of universities in the international classification.
The University President stressed on upgrading the level of specialized university periodicals to the international level, providing them with an opportunity for international representation, and inclusion of developed journals within the index of scientific periodicals with an advanced impact factor, contributing to inclusion of university periodicals in global classification rules, strengthening cooperation among scientific journals with similar disciplines, and expanding publishing and distribution base to serve researchers and beneficiaries locally and internationally.
