Beni Suef University’s Faculty of Developmental Social Work Organizes Awareness Seminar on the “Virtues of Ramadan”

Under the auspices of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, and as part of the spiritual preparations for welcoming the holy month of Ramadan, the Faculty of Developmental Social Work, in cooperation with the Al-Azhar branch in Beni Suef, organized an awareness seminar entitled “How to Welcome Ramadan.” The event was supervised by Dr. Abu El-Hassan Abdel Mawgoud, Vice President for Community Service; Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Hindawy Abdel-Lahi Hassan, Dean of the Faculty; Dr. Fadl Mohamed, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Mohamed Saad El-Sherbini, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Dr. Mokhles Ramadan Bleyh, Professor of Planning and Social Care Policies. The seminar was attended by Dr. Abdel Mawgoud Desouki, Deputy Director of Al-Azhar in Beni Suef; Sheikh Khalaf Hussein, preacher at Al-Azhar; Ms. Hiyam Hussein, Director of Public Relations at Al-Azhar, and a large number of students.

Dr. Tarek Ali emphasized that the university is always keen on organizing such events, which contribute to building well-rounded student personalities and enhancing proper religious awareness. He noted that cooperation with Al-Azhar ensures the delivery of a religious discourse that reinforces values of tolerance and love. He added that welcoming the holy month is not limited to acts of worship but also involves sincere work and strengthening bonds of unity among all segments of society, highlighting the university as a center of knowledge, ethics, and values.

Dr. Hindawy Abdel-Lahi explained that the seminar covered important topics, including the virtues of Ramadan, ways to use the month for positive self-development, and proper conduct with non-Muslims within the framework of citizenship and coexistence. He also expressed gratitude to the Al-Azhar delegation for their enlightening role and praised the open dialogue at the conclusion of the seminar, during which scholars answered students’ questions on various jurisprudential and social issues. He stressed the importance of continuing such seminars to connect students to their religious and national identity in a scientific and sound manner.
