The Faculty of Mass Communication at Beni Suef University is organizing a workshop on "Data Analysis and Presentation" using Power BI.

Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, and within the framework of the university's plan to support the use of artificial intelligence applications and modern digital technologies in the educational process
and bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application, which equipping students with the skills needed for the demands of the contemporary media job market. The Artificial Intelligence Lab at the Journalism Department of the Faculty of Mass Communication organized a workshop titled "Key Tools for Data Analysis and Presentation" using Power BI. The workshop was held under the supervision of Dr. Mamdouh Makawy, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Dr. Nasreen Hossam El-Din, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Fatima Fayez, Head of the Journalism Department. The presenter was Dr. Noha Abdel Sabour, a journalist with the newspaper Veto
The university president explained that the workshop practically reviewed the latest tools and technologies used in analyzing journalistic data, and how to employ Power BI software to transform raw data into interactive dashboards that enable journalists to read the numbers in depth and present them to the public accurately and attractively. He emphasized the crucial importance of data journalism in supporting media coverage based on statistics and indicators, especially since the use of analytical and visual presentation tools has become an inevitable professional necessity to keep pace with the digital transformation in journalistic work and enhance the credibility of media content
For his part, Dr. Mamdouh Makawi pointed out that the workshop witnessed active participation from the students of the Department of Journalism, as it included the implementation of practical models that included the stages of collecting, organizing and analyzing data, leading to the production of integrated journalistic stories supported by graphs, which comes within the college’s efforts to develop students’ analytical thinking and innovation skills and prepare them technically for the requirements of the labor market
