Under the patronage of Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of the University, the Faculty of Mass Communication at Beni Suef National University organized a symposium entitled "Together with awareness we protect it.. Know your country and preserve it." The symposium was supervised by Dr. Abu Al-Hassan Abdel Mawgoud, Vice President of the University for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Rasha Adel, Dean of the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Sector, with the attendance of Dr. Rasha Mahdy, Member of the Senate, Dr. Dina El-Gendy, Member of the Political Participation Committee of the National Council for Women, Major General Refaat Komsan, former Advisor to the Prime Minister and Consultant to the Political Participation Committee of the National Council for Women, and Dr. Narmin Mahmoud, Rapporteur of the National Council for Women.
The symposium addressed key topics related to the role of major national projects in building the new republic. It emphasized that these projects are among the fundamental pillars for achieving sustainable development, raising citizens' living standards, and strengthening the state's position at the regional and international levels. The symposium also addressed the issue of rumors, highlighting their danger to the stability and cohesion of society, especially in light of the potential distortion of public awareness and the loss of national identity they cause, in addition to their negative impact on young people's loyalty and sense of belonging to their homeland.
In this context, the media's pivotal role in combating and countering rumours was highlighted by providing accurate information and educating citizens, especially young people, about the importance of verifying sources and not being swayed by false and malicious news.
It is worth noting that Dr. Mansour welcomed the attendees at the symposium and was presented with a commemorative shield from National University.
