Under the auspices of Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, the Faculty of Education for Early Childhood organized a symposium entitled "Combating Violence and Harassment in Public Places" as part of the 16-day campaign. This was in cooperation with the Anti-Violence Against Women Unit, in the presence of Dr. Ibrahim Abdel Razek, Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Hanaa Fouad, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Ghada Atef, Director of the Unit, Brigadier General Ahmed Mutawwa, Director of the Human Rights Department at the Beni Suef Security Directorate, Captain Mai Mohamed, Head of the Social Communication Department for Human Rights at the Beni Suef Security Directorate, Dr. Jumana Ramadan, Deputy Director of the Unit, Dr. Abdel Latif Hassanein from the Beni Suef Preaching District, Dr. Shaima Karam, Director of Women's Affairs at the Governor's General Office, Ms. Laila Abu Aql, a cassation lawyer, Dr. Sally Saeed, a lecturer at the Faculty of Mass Communication at Nahda University, Dr. Sara Eid and Dr. Sara Ahmed at the Faculty of Education for Early Childhood , amid a remarkable presence of female students.
The university president explained that the symposium addressed combating violence from the religious and legal aspects. In addition to how to confront harassment and ways to deal with it in public places. Also, he emphasized the importance of establishing the concepts of gender equality and equal opportunities based on special competencies and capabilities in leadership positions in order to achieve development goals and national strategies. The Anti-Violence Against Women Unit at the university also reviewed the services provided to male and female students, employees and faculty members within the university and how to communicate to solve problems.
