Beni Suef University hosts a meeting of the Basic Sciences Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities

Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, received today Dr. Essam Khamis, Head of the Basic Sciences Sector Committee, as part of hosting the Sector Committee meeting at Beni Suef University. This was in the presence of Dr. Tarek Ali, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Hanan Suleiman, Member of the Senate and Member of the Committee, and the participation of deans of faculties of science and experts in basic sciences specializations at universities.
In his speech, Dr. Mansour Hassan expressed his great happiness and appreciation for holding the meeting at the university, pointing out the presence of 6 faculties at the university within the Basic Sciences Sector Committee, stressing the importance of the pioneering role played by the faculties of science in education and scientific research and the vital integrated programs and intellectual knowledge they provide, as they are the main engine and locomotive of scientific research and development, and providing all academic contributions to various other disciplines. He stressed the university's keenness to provide all means of support to the faculties of the Basic Sciences Sector to carry out their educational and research role, noting that the university's progress in the various international classifications during the past five years is due to the positive measures during that period, the most important of which is supporting the university's scientific research and supporting researchers, training in international publishing, in addition to what the university does to motivate researchers at all scientific degrees to publish in distinguished international journals, making information sources available to researchers via the Internet, cooperating with the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, hoping that the meeting will result in purposeful recommendations to serve the educational system.
For his part, Dr. Essam Khamis praised the remarkable development witnessed by the university, especially in the field of scientific research, reviewing the most important research strengths of Beni Suef University during the past five years, the most prominent of which was the publication of nearly 13 thousand scientific research papers in international journals with a high impact factor, as the percentage of research participation with other countries reached 61%, in addition to the percentage of research citations for international patents, which amounted to 71 patents.
The Council reviewed several important topics, most notably the adoption of a report on an integrated action plan to deal with the BRICS countries because of the belief in the importance of enhancing cooperation and partnership with these countries. As well as cooperation in common strengths in various fields to serve the educational and research system ,work on developing scientific research policies, and enhancing cooperation with global universities and research institutions with the aim of updating the academic path of students after graduation according to the requirements of the labor market.
