Beni Suef University organizes a festival within the “100 Days of Sports” initiative and honors orphans and people with disabilities

Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, witnessed today the activities of the university’s sports festival as part of the “100 Days of Sports” initiative launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research last September. This event comes within the framework of the ministry’s plan to implement the President’s initiative for human development “ Bedaya A New Beginning for Building the Human Being,” under the supervision of the General Administration of Youth Care at the university.
The festival activities included a walking marathon led by the university president that toured the campus to promote and spread sports culture among students. The activities included sports shows for the game of "karate" and the university president participated with the students in two games, football and basketball. This was in the presence of Dr. Tarek Ali, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Abdel Latif Hesham, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Hossam El-Hawary, Coordinator of Student Activities, Mr. Mohamed Selim, Secretary General of the University, and Captain Mohamed Farouk, General Manager of Youth Care Administration.
The university president explained that the initiative aims to promote physical activity , encourage university students to follow a healthy lifestyle , promote sports and to develop the character of young people in Egyptian universities. The initiative comes within the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which adopts sports as a main pillar in the development and building of the human being. It is an opportunity to enhance team spirit and positive competition among students and to establish sports as a way of life. The initiative includes organizing a sports day in each of the university’s faculties for one hour per day for various types of sports with the participation of faculty members and students.
On the sidelines of the celebration, the university president honored a group of orphans and people with disabilities, as part of the cooperation between the university and a number of governmental and civil institutions to bring them joy and happiness.
