The Faculty of Nursing, Beni Suef University, organized a scientific symposium on food poisoning under the auspices of Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of the University A scientific symposium on food poisoning, its types, causes and first aid, at the Faculty of Law, under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Nagi, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Dr. Adel Abu Hashima, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Hanan Al-Zablawy Hassan, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Nursing for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Dr. Fatima Abdel-Alim, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs. Dr. Israa Hamdy, Lecturer of Surgical InternalThe symposium addressed the causes and types of food poisoning and its causes from food or drinks, whether spoiled, expired, or treated with chemicals or pesticides, and the common symptoms that accompany food poisoning, such as vomiting, nausea, and abdominal pain. It also addressed poisoning resulting from drinking chemicals such as detergents and others, and how to  avoid exposure to this type of poisoning and protect children and family members from consuming these compounds by mistake, in addition to drug poisoning. Nursing at the Faculty of Nursing, attended the symposium  which caused by using spoiled medicine or overdoses, as well as poisoning resulting from bites or stings such as dog bites or snake or scorpion bites. The symposium also discussed first aid for dealing with cases of food poisoning, including gastric lavage and the procedures that must be followed to preserve the life of the injured person and reduce complications until the injured person is transferred to the hospital to receive specialized treatment
