President of Beni Suef University commends the success of the Faculty of Alsun's conference on the challenges of translation in artificial intelligence.

Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, praised the success of the Faculty of Alsun's conference, organized in collaboration with the General Syndicate of Egypt's Writers Union, entitled "Translation in the Era of Artificial Intelligence," held at the union's headquarters under the supervision of Dr. Tarek Ali, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Sherif El-Gayar, Dean of the Faculty of Alsun.

The event was attended by Dr. Alaa Abdel Hadi, President of General Syndicate of Egypt's Writers Union, Dr. Hanaa Mahmoud, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Alsun for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hashem, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Alsun for Student Affairs, and Dr. Shimaa Kamal, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Alsun for Environmental Affairs and Community Service, as well as Dr. Ahmed El-Hussisy, Head of Translation Division at Syndicate of Egypt's Writers Union.

The university president highlighted that the conference received significant attention from academics, translators, professionals, and publishing houses. The discussions varied between specialized academic and practical professional perspectives. The first session focused on "Challenges of Translation in the Era of Artificial Intelligence," the second session on "Translation and Technology," and the third session on "Experiences in Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for the Benefit of the Translation Industry."

It is worth mentioning that the forum concluded with the announcement of recommendations, including:

1. Adoption of teaching artificial intelligence applications in language and translation departments.
2. Establishment of interdisciplinary programs in collaboration between faculties of Al- Alsun, Engineering, and Information Technology to serve the translation industry.
3. Working on transforming projects from Al- Alsun faculties into commercially viable projects for integration between the academic and professional sides.
4. Signing twinning agreements between Egyptian and Arab universities on one side and foreign universities on the other to raise the level of translators to meet the challenges of the labor market.
5. Accelerating the establishment of a translators' union to advocate for their rights and assist in their employment after equipping them with artificial intelligence tools.
6. Developing projects in collaboration with language and translation departments to produce electronic dictionaries and databases to enhance translation.
7. Introducing students to new translation-related jobs and training them for them.
8. Introducing intellectual property laws and ethics.
9. Introducing safe use of artificial intelligence and its ethics.
10. Involving translators in developing artificial intelligence applications.
