Prevalence and charactertistics of Infectious Bronchitis Virus Isolated from Respiratory

Research Abstract

The etiologies of respiratory diseases problems in poultry are complex often involving more than one pathogen at the same time (Yashpal et al., 2004). The causative agents are including bacterial and viral pathogens such as avian influenza virus (AIV) subtypes H5 &H9, velogenic Newcastle disease virus (vNDV) and infectious bronchitis virus (IBV). These pathogens are of major importance because they can cause disease independently, or in association with each other (Roussan et al., 2008). One of the possible explanations for such high mortality could be mixed infection such as co-infections of H9N2 AIV and IBV or vNDV. Even IBV live vaccine, H120 strain, also exacerbates the manifestation of experimental H9N2 AIV infection in broiler chicken (Haghighat-Jahromi et al., 2008).
