Egyptian Legislation of the Archives An Evaluation Study A thesis Submitted to the Department of Information Sciences for the Degree of Master
Research Abstract
The importance of this study is due to there is as yet no unified legislation Egyptian document, as there are no comprehensive independent study to assess the Egyptian legislation with international standards and legislation of some foreign countries.
Search aims to study the current Egyptian legislation governing the work of the documentary to all stages of the document, and evaluation of such legislation in the light of international standards and legislation of some foreign countries, and was the study is divided into four sections as follows:
Part I: legislation on access to documents, and evaluated in the light of international standards and legislation of some foreign countries.
Part II: Legislation relating to the conservation of documents, and evaluated in the light of international standards and legislation of some foreign countries.
Part III: study legislation relating to technical operations, and evaluated in the light of international standards and legislation of some foreign countries.
Part IV: identify some of the types of documents that are subject to intellectual property rights, such as engineering drawings.
Through the basic objectives of the study were to reach a number of conclusions and recommendations including the following:
The study demonstrated that the origin of the documents is the availability unless classified in one of the secret degrees. This was confirmed by the Egyptian legislation as well as international standards and legislation as well as foreign countries.
The study showed that Egyptian legislation associated with one link tried every list or to achieve as much as possible the law of which is keeping the documents in a good way, and divided the documents into three types, which most of the regulations agreed by the (Daimh- Magueth- unrequired them) However, these regulations differ among themselves in determine the extended conservation.
The study stressed the importance of technical operations for current and historical documents.
Need to pay attention to international standards and their application documents in all stages.
There should be a full integrated Archiver legislation includes all documents in the lives and regulates found and the policy of keeping documents and also includes the application of technical operations to process the documents.
The study recommends that you apply archiving program properly following the example of the standard ISO 15489.
The need to maintain documents and trying to seize the documents in the possession of individuals and the application of the manuscripts by the law.
The study confirmed the need for attention Balorheva and work on vocational rehabilitation and determine the duties; in order to save the documents in a safe manner.
