The Social Dimension of Sustainable Development in Egypt "Analytical Theory Study
Research Abstract
The concept of development has changed over time, it is economic development, social development and political, cultural and environmental to me, and from there to the overall development, and then to human development, including the sustainable human development, and human development, and finally sustainable development, Orbiter and accurately to the development process in the development of thought, knows it has not favored the concept of local and global concern as much as I enjoyed the concept of sustainable development, this study aimed to examine and analyze the social dimension of sustainable development in the provinces of Upper Egypt, as well as taking measures associated with this dimension and indicators by which to measure the social dimension.
The study resulted in several conclusions, most notably there are shortcomings and obvious with regard to the social dimension of sustainable development in Upper Egypt as a result of insufficient attention to the governorates level, and high poverty index in Upper Egypt, especially in the provinces of Assiut and Qena, and is the province of Minya best Upper Egypt where poverty than other less than from the rest of the provinces, it is also the largest provinces in terms of population, high levels of poverty, illiteracy and low standard of living and income in rural Upper Egypt compared to urban ratio, also have the highest mortality rate of the children under five years of age in the province of Assiut, as well as the high rate of use of family planning methods in Beni Suef among married women in the age group (15-49 years) compared to the rest of the governorates of Upper Egypt, and an unemployment rate in Upper Egypt, 24% of the total number of unemployed people in Egypt, and the proportion of the population 29% of the total population.
