This study aims to identify the reality of the application of knowledge management at the National Documentation Center.in particular the perception of the employees and managers of the departments in it for the concept and importance of the application of knowledge management , The reality of the application of knowledge management processes, availability of knowledge management components, Obstacles to knowledge management, The most prominent motives of the application of knowledge management from the perspective of employees and managers of departments and The best strategy for knowledge management in the National Documentation Center.
The study was based on the descriptive analytical method. The sample included the employees and managers of the departments. The study also relied on questionnaires as a data collection tool, which was distributed to the study community, a total of 127 valid questionnaires were recovered.
The study concluded that The knowledge management approach is of great importance in the advancement and success of any institution, and the application of knowledge management requires the availability of some physical, human, organizational and technological requirements. What the National Documentation Center possesses are knowledge assets that require the application of knowledge management. The results of the study show that National Documentation Center does not apply knowledge management clearly and systematically to all its departments and employees. This requires the development of a strategic plan that contributes to the systematic application of knowledge management in the National Documentation Center.
The study recommends The need to adopt the National Documentation Center of knowledge management and work on the application through various programs. Dealing with knowledge management as an approach of the most important modern administrative approaches in our time, and work on developing continuously, and emphasize its importance and its role in achieving Competitive advantage, and focus on it as a knowledge base; to provide the services of the National Documentation Center on a continuous and effective basis
