Master Title

UNESCO General Information Program and its Role in the Promotion of Library and Information Services and the Use of Egypt / Master Degree, Cairo University, Beni Suef Branch. Faculty of Arts, Egypt, 1997.

Master Abstract

The study dealt with UNESCO as an intergovernmental organization in terms of its origin and history, with a focus on the International Institute for Intellectual Cooperation of the League of Nations, and then dealing with UNESCO and its special attention to libraries and information through two stages, starting with the establishment of the organization until 1967 and the second from 1967 to 1976, PGI also discussed the development and relationship of the program with previous Natis and the Consist, and then tackled the five objectives of the program and its activities in order to reach it. The program activities carried out in Egypt. The study found that the existence of the program itself at the intergovernmental level is a good indicator of the official interest in the issues concerned. Although the program is comprehensive across all sectors and disciplines, its literature shows a focus on scientific and technological information,. Advisory missions and expert missions rarely come to fruition, especially with their duration and foreign implementers, and with the stalemate of developing countries, There is no clear distinction between the Egyptian and the UNESCO bodies in terms of their national composition (NFP) or the National Committee (UNC) and its functions.
