Beni Suef University won first place in the climate change competition with the participation of 40 Egyptian universities

Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, announced today that the (Green Eco) team of students from the Faculty of Science won first place and a prize of 100,000 pounds In the competition  which organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research entitled Climate Change “Creativity for Sustainability”, with the participation of more than 40 universities between governmental, private and National, which coincides with Egypt’s hosting of the Climate Summit from 6-18 November, in the presence of Dr. Gamal Abdel-Rahman, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Hanan Suleiman, Member of the Senate, Dr. Hamada Mohamed Mahmoud, Dean of the College of Science, Dr. Walaa Hazeen, Vice Dean of the College of Science, Dr. Mohamed Mostafa, Director of the University Performance Development Center, and Dr. Mohab Moussa, Director of the Technology Transfer and Marketing Center “Tycho” members of the winning team

The President of the University congratulated the winning team, expressing his happiness with the achievements of the students and professors of the Faculty of Science in research and scientific discoveries that serve society and humanity, indicating that the project was chosen by a jury that includes elite professors and scientists of Egyptian universities and advisors of a number of relevant ministries. Its main idea is to sequester carbon by using microalgae in the production of biofuels and biological products that are environmentally friendly and that the project is in line with the Egyptian state's policy to confront climate change and discover alternative solutions that are
environmentally friendly.

Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Dean of the College, indicated that the Green Eco team is under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Sayed Abdel Hamid and Dr. Wael Ahmed Fathi El Sayed, and includes students Ahmed Fathi El Sayed, Kyrollos Mamdouh Nassif, Ahmed Mohamed Farouk, Ayah Talaat Mohamed, Dina Hamdy Mohamed, and Rahma Taha Sayed and Hadeer Hamada Ahmed, they made an honorable scientific presentation in front of the jury, and he was chosen from among 21 universities in the last qualifiers.
