President of Beni Suef University: Receiving more than 12 thousand blood donors at university hospitals and automating all transactions

Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, said that there has been a remarkable development at blood bank at Beni Suef University Hospitals during the recent period as a result of automating all transactions starting from sampling stage, then registering on the program using a barcode to ensure safety, quality and ease of access in emergency situations, especially in the case of rare species, accuracy by recording the personal and medical data of donors, and conducting analyzes to benefit from them when repeating the donation or receiving blood for the same patient.

The university president confirmed that more than 12,300 donors have been received during the current year, expressing his thanks and appreciation to those who work at the blood bank unit, including doctors, nurses, technicians, and administrators due to the accuracy and speed required to work inside the unit in taking samples and the necessary analyzes, especially during emergency days and delicate operations that have become an integral part of the nature of work inside the university hospital, and in light of the remarkable expansion and development enjoyed by the medical sector during the era of President / Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic.

Prof. Dr. Atef Morsi, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, confirmed that the blood bank unit is one of the most important units at  university hospital due to the large number of patients who visit the hospital and are scheduled to undergo operations.Through the development witnessed by the blood bank, there has been speed and accuracy in performing the necessary analyzes for patients and donors.

Dr. Mohamed Shaaban, Director-General of Beni Suef University Hospitals, indicated that 10,500 blood bags and 9,200 plasma bags were given to patients during the current year, as the development of the blood bank included the rehabilitation of all departments and departments from the reception room of patients and donors, serology unit, Derivatives unit, and donation rooms, in addition to permanent communication between the blood bank at the University Hospital and the Ministry of Health.
