Within the activities of the celebration of the World Glaucoma Day, the President of Beni Suef University: lectures to raise awareness of the disease and methods of prevention and treatment

The Council of Beni Suef University, headed by Prof. Mansour Hassan, President of the University, approved, in its 206th session, the proposal of the Institute for Elderly Studies to celebrate the World Glaucoma Day, in the presence of deputies, deans of faculties and members of the Council.
Dr. Mansour explained that this celebration comes within the framework of raising awareness of glaucoma, as it is the second cause of blindness, and its danger lies in that it causes permanent vision loss unless it is detected and treated early, because it strikes silently and gradually, explaining the importance of educating people about this disease. And the importance of early detection, stressing that the celebration includes several activities, including lectures to raise awareness of the disease, methods of prevention and treatment, eye pressure measurement, and an early examination for glaucoma, and that it also includes a sports marathon in cooperation with the College of Physical Education.
