During the final exams of the academic year at the Faculty of Arts, and during the supervision of a faculty member at one of the committees, it was noticed that a student without a university identity card entered the faculty, then after checking her personality by a faculty member, she was allowed to enter and take the exam.
After the student finished the exam, she went to the faculty member and a heated discussion took place between them until a verbal argument broke out. As a result, the faculty member (in an unacceptable and unjustified behavior) slapped the student in the face, and the student filed a complaint.

As soon as Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of university, was informed of the incident, he ordered to start an urgent investigation and accordingly issued a decision - in accordance with the text of the law - to suspend the faculty member from work for three months or until the investigations are completed, expressing his strong dissatisfaction and condemnation of this disgraceful behavior issued by a faculty member for violating university values, customs and traditions and what the heavenly religions call for and all the rules of morality and humanity.

Immediately, the university president quickly directed to provide all aspects of support to the student who was attacked, as he took the initiative to call her and her family, and during the call, he assured her and informed her that she should focus on completing the remainder of her exams, and also stressed that all guarantees be provided to the student, which would enable her to complete her exams in an atmosphere of calm.

He stressed that the university administration will take everything in its power to preserve its right through an urgent, transparent and fair investigation. There is no difference between a faculty member and a student, and that whoever errs will be punished.

He also directed the university's anti-violence against women unit to play its role by providing psychological support to the student, according to the unit's specialization and following up on the situation, stressing that he condemns and rejects all types of violence against women. He stressed not to accept any action that violates the dignity and humanity of women.

The university president stressed that the university, as one of the state institutions, is governed by the laws and regulations regulating the punishment of erring faculty members or staff, and that the university administration has taken the maximum measures it has as set out by the law regulating its work in such cases, as the law organizing universities, article (106) it has stipulated that the president of the university may order the suspension of a faculty member from his work for a period not exceeding three months.
