This session is part of a series of training programs offered by the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects in cooperation with partner ministries and organizations to raise awareness and build the capacity of various personnel across all governorates of Egypt.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, a global economist and the UN Special Envoy on Financing for Sustainable Development. Dr. Mohieldin has over thirty years of experience in international finance and development, having held leadership positions at the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, in addition to serving as Egypt's first Minister of Investment. He also served as the Climate Lead for Egypt's Presidency of the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27)

He currently holds several international academic positions, including Professor of Economics at Cairo University, Visiting Professor at Columbia University, Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution, and Fellow of the World Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is chair and a member of prestigious advisory boards, including the World Economic Forum's Global Future Council for Economic Development, the Steering Council of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network, and the Glasgow Finance Alliance for Net-Neutral Africa

Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin has received several prestigious honorary degrees in recognition of his contributions and has authored numerous pioneering publications and research papers in the fields of economics, development, finance, and climate change
