The Department of Oriental Languages (Hebrew Language Division) is a new department in the Faculty of Arts, Beni Suef University. It was established 5 years ago and accepts new students without conditions.
Study in the department
4years with the regular faculty fees, i.e. without additional fees. During the four years, the student studies the Hebrew, Turkish or Persian languages, and the history, religion and culture of the speakers of these languages. The student graduates perfect in the language in which he specializes, and in the fields of work he is called a translator and expert in Israeli, Iranian or Turkish affairs.
Work Fields
The department is new, so it needs a teaching staff. Therefore, outstanding students will be appointed as teaching assistants in the department.
The graduate of the department can work in sovereign places in the country such as the General Intelligence and Military Intelligence, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, i.e. in diplomatic work. Also, as a translator and expert on Israeli, Turkish or Iranian affairs in local and international magazines and newspapers, and local and international satellite channels, and in the field of tourist guidance. The graduate student  from the department can also apply to the military and police faculties to obtain a military or police study for a year and thus obtain a military rank and join the army or a police rank and join the police. It is worth noting that the military and police faculties request new graduates of the Oriental Languages (Hebrew, Persian and Turkish) every year .
Studying in the department includes practicing the language by entering the phonetics labs, listening and speaking Hebrew in the labs .This happens under supervision of the department’s professors.
The regulation of the department also includes scientific trips to Jewish temples in Egypt, Elephantine Island in Aswan to see what the Aramaic (Jewish) community left behind there,  Mosiri yard in Basateen and the Abu Hasira shrine in Beheira Governorate. Also , and an annual trip to South Sinai to see the route of the Jews' exodus from Egypt during the time of the Prophet Moses, peace be upon him, and the Islamic and Ottoman monuments. This under the supervision of the department's professors.
