Hosting Beni Suef University, the third Arab championship for university fencers
The third Arab championship for Arab fencers, hosted by Beni Suef University, over 3 days, in the covered hall of the sports stadium, with the participation of 200 players representing 30 Egyptian and Arab universities from the continents of Africa and Asia, where the opening was attended by Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of the University, and Dr. Sobhi Hassanein, First Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Assem Salama, Deputy Governor of Beni Suef, and Dr. Mukhtar Amin, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education at Beni Suef University, along with a group of security and executive governorate leaders, presidents and deputies of some Egyptian and Arab universities. The president of the university explained that the fencing weapon is one of the official competitions in the Olympic Committee and its policy is to organize Arab and African championships, pointing out that there are no universities in Egypt that organize such qualitative tournaments.
